The San Diego River Park Foundation is dedicated to engaging the community in creating a better future for the San Diego River. Engaging citizen scientists in evaluating and monitoring the health of the San Diego River is an important tool. Our RiverWatch team conducts monthly water quality monitoring, our RiverBlitz and River Assessment Field Teams conduct field surveys of habitat health as often as weekly to inform our clean-up and restoration strategy, and our River Bugs Are Cool program engages youth in citizen science through free field trips to the San Diego River to conduct bioassessment.
